About Me

I am a student of psychology and philosophy. I have a keen interest in exploring the nature of reality, and I firmly believe science and philosophy, if done properly, are two halves of a whole. As such, the books I read are concerned with science and philosophy. My academic pursuit is aimed towards psychology, but I have broad intellectual interests.

I am not religious, and religion will be discussed from a secular point of view, but not in a highly critical manner. I do not wish to be associated with the behavior of the "New Atheists" or to be thought of as militant. Philosophically speaking, my views call under realism for epistemology, virtue ethics & deontology for ethics, agnostic on theology, and since metaphysics covers many topics, I won't list those views here (many of which, are not certain as of yet, anyway.)

I would encapsulate the spirit of what I believe as people are evolved creatures with high intelligence, and we have the capacity to learn about ourselves and the world. We have the ability to exercise free thought, and the moral duty to apply what we learn for the betterment of ourselves. Like Aristotle, I believe that man is a rational animal  (or at least has the potential to be) and that living a life in accordance with reason is a virtuous life.
